Ella has just a few parts, making cleaning nice and simple.

First things first: Always remove the motor before pouring out your milk. This helps prevent milk from getting into the motor and causing damage.

After each use, disassemble the milk-contact parts (collection cup, flange, diaphragm and valve), then wash and sterilise them according to the user manual. Remember, no part of Ella is dishwasher-safe!

The motor should never make contact with liquids and must not be submerged in water.

Ella's replacement parts are consumables, meaning they'll naturally wear over time. How often they need replacing depends on several factors, including how frequently you pump, how you clean and care for your parts, and general wear and tear.

As a general guide, we recommend:

• Valve: Every 3–4 months
• Diaphragm: Every 5–6 months or longer
• Silicone flange: Every 5–6 months or longer
• Milk collection cup: Every 5–6 months or longer

These are guidelines, not hard-and-fast rules! Always check your parts regularly for signs of wear, damage or changes in suction, and replace them sooner if needed.
